Theatre for the Modern Age
ABOUT US
Called by the Age "an indie theatre to watch," the Anthropocene Play Company was established in 2018 by Bronwen Coleman, Pia O'Meadhra and Claire Larman. We are a company committed to creating feminist, culturally inclusive, socially engaged theatre that provokes debate and reflection around the pressing issues of our time.
We passionately address inequities in cultural and gender representation, and enthusiastically promote diversity. As a company within Melbourne, we acknowledge we are creating on the Land of the Boon Wurrung and Wurundjeri peoples and champion representation of all First Nation peoples.
We are proud of our creative relationship with the City of Casey Department of Sustainability and Youth Services, for whom we have curated youth workshops and led devising processes. Our philanthropic relationship with Calvary Health Palliative Care, established in 2018, involved regular play readings and workshops with patients, moderated by members of the APC.
